Frey to feel on top of the world!
Mount Frey peak is widely recognized by Sikkim Government for climbing as well as for trekking. This amazing destination seems to be a window to the serene lakes, snow-covered mountains, and breathtaking natural wonders. Mount Tenchenkhang has been loved by many hikers for providing an adrenaline rush. This 6010-meter high mountain provides awesome views of the Himalayas and Nepal's Mount Makalu, and we do not think that there can be any better place than this to hike in Sikkim.
Mount Frey is a beautiful Matterhorn-like peak near the Rathong Glacier in the western Sikkim region. It is close to the majestic Mount Kabru, Mount Kokthang, and Mount Rathong. The summit is approached by crossing the magnificent Frey Glacier. This Mount Frey peak is named after the famous climber, George Frey, who during an attempt to climb Mount Kokthang near Frey Peak with Tenzing Norgay, fell there and died. George Frey's ice ax and crampons remain at the foot of this Frey peak as his cherished memorials.
Due to its dramatic similarity to Europe's famous Peak, Matterhorn, Mount Frey provides the trekkers and hikers alike the opportunity to test their tenacity, experience great thrills and explore many captivating regions like the Chaurikhang, Tshoka, Dzongri, & Yuksom. The Frey Peak can be best enjoyed between the months of March to May and from October to November months
